End of the year message: The Renaissance

//End of the year message: The Renaissance

Renacimiento

As this challenging year comes to an end, we want to look ahead and think about 2021 with the name Renacimiento (Renaissance), a term chosen by curator Luis R. Cancel, for our first New Rochelle exhibition that expresses our belief that is coming a time of rebirth and reconstruction for humanity.

The pages are blank, and we are eager to write them with meaningful programs that will have a high cultural and social impact.

At VAEA, we will continue our mission of directly supporting artists and organizations in Venezuela and the United States, while continuing our plans to grow and further expand our impact.

The VAEA support the arts and the artists, as I expressed in my recent presentation at our 30th-anniversary gala, creators are “…those who are passionately dedicated to the search for new ‘epiphanies’ of beauty so that through their creative work as artists they may offer these as gifts to the world.” (*)

The VAEA Bratter-Padrino program sends aid to Venezuelan artists in need of additional support for their careers (we currently have 70 new applications that need to be funded). With your support to VAEA, we can assist a wider number of beneficiaries. We will be grateful for your donation here support VAEA .

In the upcoming New Year, our main goal is to begin the construction of the first phase of VAEA New Rochelle Art Center that will focus on a space to host exhibitions, performing arts, lectures, film screenings, artist-in-residency programs, and other ventures. We also look forward to the end-of-the-year The Paez Medal of Art award ceremony to bestow our highest award to architects Frank Gehry and Jimmy Alcock.

Our humble contribution to society, together with many other initiatives, gives us the assurance that we are all building a better world.

“Crear un siglo de humanismo en el que todos puedan brillar”

Our thanks to all who are making this possible, supporting our foundation in so many ways.

We are pleased to invite you to visit our virtual VAEA 30th Anniversary Gala and VAEA Red Carpet Gala.

Happy New Year from The Venezuelan American Endowment for the Arts.
