The Venezuelan American Endowment for the Arts was founded on June 13, 1990 in New York with the mission of strengthening the ties of friendship between the United States of America and Venezuela through bi-national cultural and social programs. Our Mission is to promote through the visual and performing arts a deeper and richer understanding by Venezuelan citizens of U.S. culture, and by U.S. citizens of Venezuelan culture. VAEA aims to do this by supporting, including by funding the conduct of activities such as exhibitions, performance, publication, distribution and dissemination of works and information regarding, visual and performing arts in and of both countries, and by providing funding and other support to individuals and organizations including domestic tax-exempt and foreign charitable organizations and otherwise to support and conduct activities in furtherance of VAEA purposes.
Slideluck (formerly Slideluck Potshow) is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to building and strengthening community through food and art. Slideluck has hosted multimedia slideshows combined with potluck dinners in over seventy five cities around the world.Slideluck is a combination of a slideshow and a potluck and mixing things up is an essential component of our work. Slideluck brings together diverse groups of people, artwork, food, ideas and perspectives under one roof. From this diversity something unique and magical is born. Each event is localized in that artists from a community present work to that community. The work of established artists is shown alongside that of emerging and non-professional artists.Slideluck physically gathers people for an evening and we work hard to maintain the relationships that begin at our events. Nearly all of the work that is presented is archived on our website. That means that once an artist shows work with us they automatically become a part of our larger, global community.
