This time, it was the American public who in the 38th CLEVELAND INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL decided to bestow Claudia Pinto the REEL WOMEN DIRECT award for Best Female Direction, one of the festival’s most important awards.

In this festival The longest distance made a grand entrance debuting in the United States. It’s about a gathering with a long career in the film industry, and primarily focused on the public, who massively attend each year to see movies and choose with their vote the winners of the festival. The longest distance participates in the Official Section, and for this award it was competing against 44 films from around the world directed by women. Among them, the many times awarded The unusual catfishes from Mexico, and For Those Who Can Tell No Tales of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The festival was hosted by Alec Whaite, a Venezuelan aspirating interpretation actor who studies in Los Angeles, and is emerging as one of the promises of the big screen. Alec Whaite thanked the public of Cleveland for filling rooms in each projections, by the ovation received by the film, by the warmth of the meetings, and for making us this gift. At the request of Claudia Pinto, Alec dedicated the award to Julia, Claudia’s daughter who was born recently, and also spoke of the importance of fighting and to take control of our lives. Alec said in social media: “Every day I realize more that we do not only represent a country or a border, but much more. We are a world that connects with the purest and basic when we see ourselves reflected in others, and when stories remind us, that above all, we are human, very human.”

As they make their festival agenda, The longest distance is preparing for the 30th CHICAGO LATINO FILM FESTIVAL on April 3, while they wait until its commercial release in Venezuela scheduled for August 29. The film’s participation can be monitored through their Facebook account and @ladistanciapeli.

for more information visit http://www.ladistanciamaslarga.com

[3

post-2568","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news
["GET
