Presentation of the novel Bajo fuego <\/i>(Madrid: Huerga & Fierro) by Alejandro Varderi with a dramatic reading and audience participation.<\/h3>\n

Presenters: Mariza Bafile and Adalber Salas Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Alejandro Varderi<\/b> is a Venezuelan author and CUNY professor. His books of criticism include: Severo Sarduy y Pedro Almod\u00f3var: del barroco al kitsch <\/i>(1996), Anatom\u00eda de una seducci\u00f3n: reescrituras de lo femenino <\/i>(1996, 2013), A New York State<\/i> of Mind <\/i>(2008) and Los vaivenes del lenguaje: literatura en movimiento<\/i> (2011). He has also published the following novels: Para repetir una mujer <\/i>(1987), Amantes y reverentes <\/i>(1999, 2009) Viaje de vuelta <\/i>(2008) and Bajo fuego<\/i> (2013).<\/p>\n

Mariza Bafile<\/b> is a Venezuelan journalist. She has worked for La Voce d\u2019Italia<\/i>, L\u2019Unit\u00e1<\/i>, il Corriere della Sera<\/i>, Tal Cual<\/i>, El Nacional, <\/i>Rai International and the Swiss and Italian TV. She is the editor of the New York virtual magazine ViceVersa<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Adalber Salas Hern\u00e1ndez <\/b>is a Venezuelan <\/b>poet, critic and translator. He is the author, among others, of the poetry collections: Suturas\u00a0<\/i>(2011) and Heredar la tierra<\/i> (2013), and the volume Insomnios. Ensayos sobre poes\u00eda venezolana\u00a0<\/i>(2013). He holds a Master\u2019s degree in Creative Writing from New York University.<\/p>\n
