The Venezuelan American Endowment for the Arts (VAEA) is proud to announce that the P\u00e1ez Medal of Art 2012 <\/strong>will be awarded to Venezuelan Master Carlos Cruz Diez. <\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mr. Cruz Diez has excelled as an artist in his native Venezuela and abroad always showing a superb commitment to advancing the arts via public arts and educational programs.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

His continued pursuit of excellence has made him an inspiration and role model to artists all over the world.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It is with great pleasure that VAEA offers its highest award, the P\u00e1ez Medal of Art to Carlos Cruz Diez.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The P\u00e1ez Medal of Art is offered once a year to an individual or group that has had an impact and contributed to the excellence, growth, support and proliferation of the arts in both Venezuela and the United States. The Medal recognizes the extraordinary accomplishments of individuals or institutions engaged in the creation and production of the arts.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Medal will be awarded to Mr. Cruz Diez during VAEA\u2019s Annual Benefit Gala, scheduled to take place at the Museum of Art and Design in New York City on Friday November 16th<\/sup> 2012, and will have a Live Performance by Musician David Mazzarri and Musical Set by DJ Titina Penzini.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

VAEA funded June 13th<\/sup> 1990 is a New York based non-for profit organization with the mission of strengthening the ties of friendship between the United States of America and Venezuela through bi-national social and cultural programs.<\/p>\n

VAEA\u2019s Annual Benefit Gala<\/a> will be an amazing night to celebrate the best of both cultures and to honor Venezuelan Master Carlos Cruz Diez with the P\u00e1ez Medal of Art.<\/p>\n
