LOWERY SIMS CURATOR OF THE MUSEUM OF ARTS AND DESIGN OF NEW YORK VISIT VENEZUELA WITH SUPPORT FROM VAEA.
The Venezuelan American Endowment for the Arts, in its effort to promote cultural exchange between Venezuela and the United States of America invited Curator Lowery Sims from The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) of New York, to visit cultural institutions and artists’ studios in Caracas, Venezuelan with the aim of establishing dialogue and relationships between MAD and Venezuelan institutions. Lowery Sims is known for her long career in prominent institutions and museums in the American circuit, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Studio Museum in Harlem. This specialist in contemporary art is also known for her research and publications on the work of artists such as Wilfredo Lam and African American art.
