The Venezuelan American Endowment for the Arts (VAEA) extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends and artistic community for the loss of Sofia Ímber, a journalist and notable promoter of the arts in Venezuela and Latin America. Ímber, was awarded the Páez Medal of the Arts in 2014, an annual award from our institution that recognizes excellence in the field of arts. On that occasion, Sofia traveled to New York to receive her award “on behalf of all Venezuelans.”

El Fondo Venezolano Americano para las Artes (VAEA) extiende su más sentido pésame a la familia, amigos y a la comunidad artística, por la pérdida de Sofía Ímber, periodista y notable promotora de las artes en Venezuela y América Latina. Ímber, fue condecorada con la Medalla Páez de las Artes en el año 2014, galardón anual de nuestra institución que premia la excelencia en el ámbito de las artes. En esa ocasión, Sofía viajó hasta Nueva York para recibir su condecoración “en nombre de todos los venezolanos”.
