Daniela Quilici

Biography

Born in Paris, France in 1982. She lived her childhood and part of his youth in Venezuela. She returned to Paris in 1999 and studied graphic design at Sornas and Creapole. In 2000 she travels to Morocco as an assistant photographer. In 2004 she enters at the Fine Arts’s School in Paris and obtained her master in 2006. She does an ERASMUS student exchange in Bilbao, Spain (2007). At that time she makes her second solo exhibition. In 2009 she obtained her degree at the Fine Arts ‘s National School in Paris, specializing in sculpture and drawing. From 2010 she began her career as a young artist. In 2013, part of her work enters in the collection of the Cabinet of Prints drawing of Valencia, Venezuela. Daniela has exhibited in over 20 collectives, art fairs and 5 solos in different cities such as Buenos Aires, Caracas, London and Paris. She is a Full-time artist, living between Caracas and Paris.

Artist Statement

The drawings are very spontaneous and direct, they are not derived from specific intentions but related to intuition, dreams and the unconscious. My first step is always very instinctive, I observe and then make a more intentional gesture.

Drawing allows me to live in another reality and the result is biomorphic forms.

It is like entering a parallel space, what counts is the relationship with this imaginary and some form of wandering.

Biografia

Nació en paris, Francia en 1982. Vive su infancia y parte de su adolescencia en Venezuela. Regresa a París en 1999 y estudia diseño gráfico en Sornas y Creapole. En 2000 hace un viaje a Marruecos como asistente de fotógrafo. En 2004 entra en la escuela superior de Bellas Artes de París y se gradúa en el 2006 de maestría. En 2007 realiza un intercambio estudiantil ERASMUS en Bilbao, España, donde hace su segunda exposición individual. En el 2009 obtiene su licenciatura en la Escuela Nacional Superior de Bellas Artes de París con especialidad en Escultura y Dibujo. A partir del 2010 comienza su carrera de joven artista. En 2013, parte de su obra entra en la colección del Gabinete de dibujo y de la Estampa de Valencia, Venezuela. Daniela ha expuesto en más de 20 colectivas, Ferias de Arte y 5 individuales en diferentes ciudades como Buenos Aires, Caracas, Londres y París. Artista a tiempo completo, vive entre Caracas y París.
