VAEA’s 7th Annual Benefit Gala took place on December 18th, 2018 at the David Rubenstein Atrium in Lincoln Center, New York City in a festive night celebrating Venezuelan and American cultures and honoring Bob Colacello and Gustavo Dudamel with the Páez Medal of Art 2017 & 2018 respectively.
The evening began at 7pm with cocktails and a live performance by violinist Samuel Vargas followed by the Páez Medal Ceremonies.
Damien Woetzel introduced the honorees and Reinaldo Herrera & Valeria Cordero presented the 2017 Páez to Bob Colacello followed by Carolina Herrera & Ali Cordero Casal who presented the 2018 Páez to Gustavo Dudamel.
Following the inspiring and heartfelt speeches by the honorees, the Gala attendants were delighted by a live performance of “New York, New York” among other joyful tunes by crooner Gian Faraone.
The evening concluded in a fun after party with dance music courtesy of DJ David Rondón.
