Biography
Born to a family of five artists, Gil Garcia began his art education at the young age of six. His mother a water colorist, his father a sculptor of metal Folk Art, his youngest brother a Muralist, and his oldest brother and mentor of 25 years (Paul R. Garcia 1938-1994) a painter and sculptor of metal. Enjoying the many varied styles from a young age influences Gil‚s art today. His oil painting styles include Classical, Impressionistic, as well as modern art. Now age 64 his work is being enjoyed by art enthusiast world wide.
Gil spent 25 years in the restaurant design business and retired to his art in 1998. Since then he has show at many Northern California venues including „The Haggin Museum of Fine Arts‰ of Stockton, CA. On March 17, 2005 Gil was ask to submit his paintings for the Natural Instincts Exhibition and the Portraiture and Still Life Exhibitions at The Agora Gallery on Broadway, in New York. Presently Gil is a sitting member of the Tidewater Gallery, Stockton, CA. (a non-profit Artist Co-op) and his work is being sold through-out the US and abroad.
Artist Statement
I have tried, in an abbreviated way, to adapt all that I have learned from my family of artist. I trust what I have presented by way of my art to the world will be understood long after I am dead. I cannot say I love one style more than another for there are so many masterful works of art to study and enjoy. Color and balance, depth and composition, brush strokes that are laid down in careful detail or strokes that are masterfully executed to leave you the beauty of the old masters Impressionistic styles. My heart melts at such beauty and I only hope that I may one day inspire an artist who may set eyes on a painting I have left behind.

Nacido en una familia de cinco artistas, Gil Garcia empezó su educación artística a la temprana edad de 6 años. Su madre pinta con acuarela, su padre es un escultor de metal de Folk Art, su hermano menor es un muralista y su hermano mayor y mentor de 25 años (Paul R. García 1938-1994) fue un pintor y escultor de metal. El disfrutar la variedad de estilos desde una temprana edad ha influenciado el arte de Gil hoy en día. Sus pinturas de olio incluyen los estilos clásicos, impresionistas y el arte moderno. Ahora con 64 años su trabajo es disfrutado por entusiastas del arte alrededor del mundo.

Declaracion de artista
He tratado en una manera abreviada, adaptar todo lo que he aprendido de mi familia de artistas. Confió que he presentado de alguna una manera a mi arte al mundo y que será entendido mucho después de que esté muerto. No puedo decir que amo un estilo más que otro, ya que hay tantas obras maestras que hay que estudiar y disfrutar. El color, el balance, la profundidad y la composición, pinceladas que son pintadas con detalles o pinceladas que son maestramente ejecutadas para dejarte la belleza de los maestros del impresionismo. Mi corazón se derrite con tanta belleza y yo solo espero que yo pueda inspirar un día a un artista que vea una de mis obras.
