Mildred Veitia

Biography

Bachelor degree in law from Universidad Central de Venezuela, works in the public ministry in child services and in the Justice Ministry as Public Notary. She studies at the Escuela Taller Arte y Fuego, directed by Cándido Millán; then continues at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Sofia Imber, in the Bellas Artes Museum, exploring different disciplines such as drawing, painting, photography and jewelry design. She later studies High and Low reliefs in “Ministero dell Instruzione del Universita e della Ricerca Firenze” Florence, Italy.

Mildred Veitia has shown her work in Caracas, Bogota, New York, Illinois and Dubai. She has also worked in reinterpretation projects of world heritage pieces of the Universidad Central de Venezuela and the execution of public monuments in El Hatillo district, Caracas, Venezuela.

Artist Statement

My work, completely figurative, is the translation of the truth in a tridimensional concept, Body volume and relief joined into a new aesthetic that shows the beauty of the human form on its universal character.

The strength and body dynamics are the main characteristics of my aesthetics, timeless pieces that play together with the human anatomy as a medium to connect with the emotional truth.

Biografia

Egresada de la Universidad Central de Venezuela como abogado. Ejerce cargo en el ministerio público como Procuradora de Menores y en el Ministerio de Justicia como Notario Público. Posteriormente, incursiona en el arte. Inicia estudios en la Escuela Taller Arte y Fuego, bajo la dirección de Cándido Millán, luego continúa en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Sofia Imber, y en el Museo de Bellas Artes, explorando diferentes disciplinas como dibujo y pintura, fotografía y orfebrería para luego estudiar altos y bajos relieves en el “Ministero dell Instruzione del Universita e della Ricerca Firenze”, en Florencia, Italia.

Ha realizado exposiciones en ciudades como: Caracas, Bogotá, Nueva York, Illinois y Dubai, además de trabajar en proyectos de reinterpretación de piezas de patrimonio mundial de la Universidad Central de Venezuela y la ejecución de monumento público en el municipio El Hatillo de Caracas, Venezuela.

Declaracion de Artista

Mi trabajo, eminentemente figurativo no se traduce mas que en la verdad del concepto tridimensional, volumen corpóreo y relieve unidos a una voluntad estética que precisa la belleza de la forma humana con su carácter universal.

La fuerza y dinámica corporal son objetivos de mi obra, absolutamente atemporal, así como jugar con la anatomía humana como vehículo de transporte de la verdad emocional.
